QR cards and coaching technicians

Printing, handing over, and getting the crew to care.

What to print

Each technician's Card view is a 3.5 × 2 inch layout with the client's colour, the tech's first name and the QR code. Print on card stock, two per sheet, or send the PNG to any online card printer. A sticker on the back of the tablet works too.

Codes never change. Renaming a technician, changing colours or moving to a custom domain does not break a printed card. Pausing a technician sends their code to the company page.

The one-line ask

Scripts fail; one honest line works: “Here's a card to tell us how it went — it takes ten seconds. I'll leave it with you.” Hand over the card while the homeowner is still at the door, then leave. Don't wait, watch, or ask for a rating on the spot — Google's policy is clear on that, and the homeowner is more honest without an audience.

Make the leaderboard visible

Show the client's leaderboard at the Monday meeting. It ranks technicians by customers sent to Google, with average rating alongside. Nobody wants to be last, and the top tech becomes the trainer.

Tell customers about the private box

Customers are kinder when they know the owner will read it personally. Techs can say so: “If anything wasn't right, there's a private note that goes straight to the boss.”

No cards yet? Use the company link

Every client has a company review page without a technician. Paste it into the invoice email, the receipt, or the post-job text from Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. Attribution comes when the cards do.
